A patient at South Austin (TX) Hospital died after lighting himself on fire on May 2.

The hospital relocated about 30 patients to other areas during the fire and diverted incoming ambulances from its emergency room, according to the Austin American-Statesman.

The fire occurred on a second floor unit, and sprinklers put out the flames. Several patients received treatment for smoke inhalation.

The patient ignited himself with a cigarette lighter, though officials said it wasn't clear whether the patient did so on purpose or accidentally, the American-Statesman reported.
