Informational screensavers can help raise employee awareness and improve overall communication, according to an article in Patient Safety Link, a newsletter from the Joint Commission International Center for Patient Safety.

The article examines an initiative by Denver Health to use screensaver technology to send messages to employees about the following issues:

  • regulatory and safety issues (e.g., HIPAA compliance, accreditation, etc.)
  • health education (e.g., flu prevention, diabetes education, etc.)
  • institutional messages
