A survey of operating room nurses shows that 82% of respondents were very concerned that contact with infectious blood through damaged surgical gloves could adversely affect their careers. An additional 15% of respondents said that they were somewhat concerned.

Only 14% of operating room nurses surveyed said that they could identify glove punctures 75% of the time and only 1% claimed perfection in detecting glove breaches.

Medical glove manufacturer Regent Medical Ltd. conducted the survey during the annual meeting of the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses in March in Washington, D.C. Click here for more survey results.
