An assisted living facility could be in trouble with the Virginia Department of Social Services following a fire that injured five people on March 30.

The state may file criminal charges against the owner because the facility is allegedly not licensed as required by the Department of Social Services, according to WWBT-TV in Richmond, VA.

An electrical problem caused the blaze at the private facility in Chesterfield County, according to the county's fire department. Three residents and two staff members went to the hospital for injuries and smoke inhalation.
