The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) has updated its online frequently-asked questions (FAQs) about the National Patient Safety Goals, including several goals that have environmental safety aspects for hospitals:
Among topics discussed in the new FAQs are
- the fire safety of alcohol-based hand gels in the goal for reducing hospital-acquired infections
- risk assessments as part of the goal to reduce patient falls
