Three federal agencies will host a conference on May 11 to discuss, among other concerns, Clostridium difficile (C. difficile) outbreaks at hospitals and nursing homes, The New York Times reported on February 14.

The CDC, Food and Drug Administration, and National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases will participate in the conference. Also on the conference agenda are presentations on Clostridium sordellii, which has been connected to four deaths of women who allegedly took the abortion pill RU-486, according to The Times.
