If allegations prove to be true, Children's Convalescent Hospital in San Diego is dealing with one of the saddest incidents we've heard about.
On March 10, police arrested a respiratory therapist who works at the pediatric long-term-care facility and charged him with possession of child pornography and child molestation, according to a statement from the hospital.
The charges involve at least nine children, according to The San Diego Tribune. The suspect allegedly used a cell phone to take photographs of bedridden children at the hospital.
The convalescent facility treats children who need hands-on care, some of whom aren't aware of their surroundings. Some of the photos allegedly showed up on the Internet, The Tribune reported.
Police started their investigation after receiving a tip about child pornography on the Web.
