Because the recredentialing of various anesthesia providers will come at different times and the expiration of certain documents (e.g., medical license or malpractice insurance) will occur at various times during their credentialed period, keeping track of all staff and documents can prove challenging. Create a checklist to ensure nothing slips through the cracks.
Develop a checklist with providers listed on one side and columns with each required piece of credentialing information on the other, and list the expiration dates under each column. At the beginning of each month, highlight documents set to expire that month and send letters to the appropriate providers telling them that updates are needed.
