NPSF promotes Patient Safety Awareness Week

The National Patient Safety Foundation (NPSF) is encouraging healthcare organizations across the country to promote patient safety March 5-11 during Patient Safety Awareness Week (PSAW). Launched in 2002, PSAW is a national awareness-building campaign for improving patient safety at a local level.
The NPSF Web site includes suggestions for how healthcare organizations and their staff can promote PSAW, including
- PSAW media and marketing suggestions
- tips for communicating with patients and families about PSAW
- tools to help patients ensure their own safety
- patient safety awareness bracelets
