The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and the National Quality Forum (NQF) are seeking submissions for awards that recognize individuals and healthcare organizations that make significant contributions in improving patient safety and quality, according to a JCAHO press release.
The deadline for nominations for the John M. Eisenberg Patient Safety and Quality Awards is May 1, and nomination forms are available at the JCAHO and NQF Web sites.
The National Patient Safety Foundation (NPSF) is also accepting submissions for two new awards-the Socius Award and the Chairman's Medal-that will be presented during the eighth annual NPSF Patient Safety Congress in May in San Francisco.
To nominate candidates for the NPSF awards, submit a 500- to 1,000-word essay no later than March 15.
