The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) have launched a newly designed Web site offering "unbiased, science-based information on breast implant options."

The site, located at www.breastimplantsafety.org, hopes to "inform, empower, and provide women with complete implant information." It offers information on breast augmentation, breast reconstruction, implant options, cost, and safety, risks, and benefits, and also has a photo gallery, forum for discussion, and a database for finding a surgeon.

"Many women make a new year's resolution to improve the look and feel of their breasts," said Bruce Cunningham, MD, president of the ASPS, in an ASPS press release. "Using www.breastimplantsafety.org, women can access current scientific information so they are empowered to make the best decision regarding breast surgery," he said.
