This week, the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) is hosting its annual surveyor training in Chicago.
On Friday, surveyors will learn more about the JCAHO's plans to switch to electronic versions of Parts 2 and 4 of the Statement of Conditions in 2007, according to a training agenda.
Unannounced surveys will likely also be a topic of discussion as surveyors get ready to unroll this latest JCAHO approach. Remember, the JCAHO will post surveyor photos, a letter from the commission, and your facility's priority focus report on the accreditor's extranet Web site the morning of your survey. Facilities won't receive any other advanced notice of a survey, according to the JCAHO.
