An accident just outside Manchester (CT) Memorial Hospital temporarily closed one of its two emergency room entrances on Monday.
A tractor-trailer cab scraped the roof of a tunnel ceiling, breaking off a sprinkler and causing a flood, according to the Hartford Courant. It appeared the cab was too big for the tunnel, which runs below the hospital's birthing center, the Courant reported.
Within 90 minutes, authorities were able to reopen the tunnel after shutting off the water supply to the broken sprinkler and sanding the icy road.
