If you like to look far ahead, then you might want to comment on a field review of proposed National Patient Safety Goals for 2007.
The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) released the draft goals last week, offering them up for medical industry review until January 8.
For safety professionals, the following three proposed goals have implications:
1. Identifying the risks for patient suicide
2. Discouraging disruptive behavior among healthcare staff
3. Preventing patient harm resulting from healthcare worker fatigue
