Mulling over new reader survey results from Briefings on Hospital Safety, it sure seems that safety officers are interested in the JCAHO's new emergency management session, which will debut in a matter of weeks.
The session will have two main aspects: thoroughly reviewing hospital disaster plans, including the hazard vulnerability analysis, and looking at how staff would handle one of the scenarios from that analysis. Combine these new developments with anticipated changes to the emergency management drill requirements, and it's clear where the JCAHO is heading in 2006.
For the latest JCAHO emergency management news and advice, join us for a live audioconference next Tuesday, December 13, at 1 p.m. Eastern.
