Nothing to sneeze at: Priority deadline approaches, CDC offers flu education material

The CDC recommends healthcare workers in direct patient care obtain the inactivated influenza vaccine by October 24, including:

Those in outpatient facilities who provide ongoing care

Those in outpatient facilities who provide episodic or acute care

Those in nursing homes and other residential long-term care facilities

Those in acute care hospitals

Visiting nurses and others who provide home care to persons at high risk

Those in other facilities who provide services to persons aged 50 years or older

Beginning October 24, all persons can get a flu shot.

The CDC has a "Flu Gallery" Web page that you can download and print, which includes:

Patient education posters and flyers

Patient screening forms for inactivated flu vaccine

Healthcare worker education posters and flyers

Cough etiquette posters
