Citing poor cooperation from owner Tenet Healthcare Corporation, the attorney general of Louisiana has issued subpoenas to 73 employees of Memorial Medical Center in New Orleans.

The subpoenas went to workers at all levels of the hospital and stem from an investigation into whether clinicians allegedly discussed mercy killings of patients during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, CNN reported. Memorial Medical Center suffered terrible damage, and trapped staff and patients endured days of difficulty before being rescued.

Tenet denied that the company has been uncooperative. Attorney General Charles Foti, Jr. told CNN that a memo from Tenet to employees allegedly caused some workers to not talk with investigators.
