Wilma hits Florida medical sites

Hurricane Wilma roared through Florida earlier this week, damaging many hospitals' roofs and windows. Some healthcare facility flooding occurred, too, reported The Miami Herald.

However, it seems medical centers by and large survived without major problems. Many of those sites relied on emergency generators following power loss.

Lower Keys Medical Center in Key West, FL, asked residents to only come to the hospital for true emergencies due to reduced staffing and resources. Luckily, that hospital only suffered minor landscaping damage.
