The demand for products and services from healthcare facilities will help the infection prevention industry grow 4.6% annually to $11.8 billion by 2009. The prediction comes from a July report published by the The Freedonia Group, Inc., a Cleveland-based industrial market research firm.
The demand for surgical drapes and gowns, hand sanitizers, powder-free gloves, and high-level surface and instrument disinfectants, will lead in the product area. Services such as infectious wastes disposal will grow as hospitals and other healthcare facilities look for improvement in safety and efficiency
