Our ongoing poll on the environment of care (EC) portion of hospital surveys indicates that emergency management plans are among the hottest topics for surveyors.

Standard EC.4.10, which covers disaster planning, is the most discussed issue in EC surveys we've learned about, according to the poll. Results show that 69% of respondents report that surveyors heavily discussed EC.4.10 during surveys in 2005.

Terrorist incidents throughout the world will probably maintain that interest from surveyors as hospitals struggle to revise and test their emergency plans. A good resource from HCPro to check out is our book, Security Planning for Terrorism.
