New 2006 Life Safety Code® goes through

We were out in beautiful Las Vegas last week for the National Fire Protection Association's annual meeting, and the big news is that members approved the 2006 edition of the Life Safety Code.

Now it's up to authorities such as the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, and state fire marshals to decide whether to adopt this upcoming version.

The new Code includes a host of changes for suites in healthcare occupancies, as well as a requirement for existing nursing homes without sprinklers to retroactively install this equipment
