New software will aid in disaster response

Emergency Management Alert, February 8, 2005

A Seattle-based company and the Pacific Disaster Center plan to provide a new technology for the government, local agencies, and public/private institutions that will aid with emergency planning and preparation, the Pacific Business News reported.

The center, based in Maui, conducts disaster research and analysis, and will work with Prepared Response, Inc., to create the rapid responder system.

The system works as a secure interactive emergency response database system allowing emergency managers to plan response and recovery efforts for a number of emergencies. The software helps organize and disseminate incident plans.
