An elderly man faced arson charges last week, after allegedly starting a trash fire in a Salt Lake City assisted living facility, television station ABC4 reported.

The 54-year-old resident allegedly set his garbage can on fire in his room. Staff members put out the fire before any major damage occurred.

No serious injuries were reported, but three patients went to the hospital as a precaution.
