An attack on a nurse last week has prompted an increase in security at Community Hospital South in Johnston City, IN, the Daily Journal reported.

A man attacked an employee in a break area at the back of the hospital's campus last week. The victim reportedly told police that the man wrapped his arms around her neck and pushed her face into a fence. The man also threatened to kill the employee. She grabbed a pair of surgical scissors from her pocket and stabbed the man, eventually escaping back into the hospital, the police reported. The perpetrator is still at large.

In response to the attack, hospital officials have added extra security, escorts in and out of the building, additional cameras and even self-defense classes, hospital spokeswoman Lynda de Widt told the Journal.
