HHS to assess hospital preparedness

Emergency Management Alert, November 30, 2004

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) will conduct a survey next month to assess hospitals' preparedness levels for chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosive events, the AHA News reported.

Hospitals that participate in the Health Resources and Services Administration's Bioterrorism Preparedness Program will receive the Web-based survey.

On December 1, a previously identified contact person at each hospital will receive the e-mail with a link to the survey. Then, that appointed person should gather all necessary information to complete the survey.
