CDC survey will monitor flu vaccine shortage’s effect on hospitals

Emergency Management Alert, November 30, 2004

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has asked a network of hospitals to complete online surveys this flu season in order to determine the effect of the flu vaccine shortage on their facilities, the AHA News reported.

The first survey will be released this week to epidemiologists and infection control professionals at random US hospitals. But the assessment will require information from the pharmacy, laboratory, and occupational health departments.

CDC also advises hospitals to gain their administrations support in accessing necessary information to complete the survey.
