Bush commits more funding to homeland security

Emergency Management Alert, November 9, 2004

President George Bush signed the Department of Homeland Security Appropriations Act of 2005 in October, which provides $28.9 billion in spending for the country's homeland security activities.

The bill includes the federal government's investment in homeland security. Overall, the act is a $1.8 billion increase over 2004 funding.
