Public comment period open for HHS flu response plan

Emergency Management Alert, October 18, 2004

There's still a week left to comment on the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) draft on national strategy for preparing and responding to the flu pandemic.

In August, HHS released the document for public comment. The plan includes the national, state, and local steps to be taken during a flu outbreak. Other topics included are coordination, surveillance, triage and patient evaluation, staffing, training and communications.

All comments are due by Tuesday, October 26. To comment on the draft, visit www.hhs.gov/nvpo/pandemicplan.
