Hurricane assistance reaches $1 million

Emergency Management Alert, October 15, 2004

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) filed $1 million in disaster assistance last week following the hurricane disasters in the Southeast this summer.

Since Hurricane Charley hit Florida on August 13, hurricanes are responsible for 21 disaster declarations in 13 states. FEMA has also sent thousands of employees to help work in affected areas.
