Florida hospitals handle another hurricane

Florida healthcare facilities moved patients to safer locations last week to prepare for Hurricane Frances, the Orlando Sentinel reported.

Hospitals also prepared for surge capacity and ordered more blood and scheduled extra workers.

Hospitals and nursing homes in Brevard and Volusia counties moved patients at coastal sites farther inland. Cape Canaveral Hospital and Wuesthoff Medical Center in Rockledge were among the facilities evacuated.
