Online toolkit prepares employers for terrorist threats
Emergency Management Alert, September 6, 2004
The National Business Group on Health released a toolkit on September 1 that helps employers respond to biological, chemical, and terrorist threats. The toolkit is aimed at businesses and public health organizations, The AHA News reported.
The toolkit is a result of a two-year-old initiative funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The initiative focuses on improving communication between businesses and public health agencies.
"Public health and other public safety agencies are responsible for protecting communities, and businesses have historically been important targets," said Charles Schable, director of CDC's Office of Terrorism Preparedness and Emergency Response. "By working and planning together, the public and private sectors will make the nation safer."
