OSHA seeks comments on mass casualty draft

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) invites comments on its draft "Best Practices for Hospital Based First Receivers of Victims from Mass Casualty Incidents Involving the Release of Hazardous Substances."

The document provides hospitals with information about developing and implementing emergency management plans for mass casualty incidents. Topics include decontamination, personal protective equipment, and employee training.

OSHA posted a draft copy on its Web site. The public can comment until August 30. To read the draft and comment, visit http://www.osha.gov/dts/osta/bestpractices/firstreceivers_hospital.html.
