A fire in a Peterborough District Hospital operating room in England this week forced the evacuation of a patient recovering from surgery, the Peterborough Evening Telegraph reported. No injuries were reported.

The patient was recovering next to the operating room when smoke leaked into the hallway. Hospital officials said no other operations were underway when the fire broke out.

Fire department officials said the fire started from one of four lighting units in the ceiling. "These lights are on 24 hours a day, seven days a week, so it's understandable that a malfunction can happen from time to time," a fire official said.

When the fire department removed the lighting unit, flames were discovered.
