One Georgia hospital is expanding its facilities and services to meet a growing patient demand.

Hutcheson Medical Center in Fort Oglethorpe, GA will construct a cancer center and an ambulatory surgery center for outpatient procedures. The new facility will also include 12 physician offices.

The cancer center will offer chemotherapy, oncology surgery, and radiation therapy. Hutcheson officials decided to build the cancer center in response to statistics showing more than 600 people in neighboring counties will be diagnosed with cancer each year, according to Vice President of Marketing Betsy Taylor.
