Find funding opportunities online
Emergency Management Alert, May 13, 2004
If you're looking for ways to get your hands-on hospital funding, then search the Department of Health and Human Services' (HHS) Web site, says Jill Rathbun, managing partner for Galileo Consulting Group, Inc., based in Arlington, VA.
HHS provides hospitals with links to various agencies' funding opportunities. Bookmark http://fedgrants.gov/Applicants/HHS/index.html and check regularly for new funding announcements.
In January alone, the Agency for Health Care Research and Quality (AHRQ) listed 12 grant announcements in which hospitals and local government entities were eligible applicants.
On January 29, the AHRQ announced the availability of one- to two-year (maximum) research grants that will examine and promote the healthcare system's readiness for a bioterrorist event and other public-health emergencies through the development of new evidence, tools, and models.
This example can be found at http://fedgrants.gov/Applicants/HHS/AHRQ/AHRQ/PAR-03-130/Grant.html.
