An unidentified male stabbed a female medical intern in the emergency department last week at Olive View-UCLA Medical Center in Sylmar, CA.
The man attempted to enter the patient-care area when the medical intern approached him. He then turned the woman around and shoved her against the wall, stabbing her twice in the back with an unknown object, according to Los Angeles Police Department Officer Adriana Sanchez told the Los Angeles Times.
LAPD and county police locked down and searched the hospital after the incident. The victim was treated at the hospital for minor chest wounds and released.
County police officers guard the hospital, and all visitors must pass through a metal detector. The medical center did not catch the act on camera.
