A day-old baby girl with respiratory problems who was taken from her mother's Stanford, KY, hospital room April 2 was found unharmed hours later in an alley 150 miles away, the Associated Press reports.

A hospital nurse's aide, Tonya Sholtz, was arrested and charged with kidnapping the baby. Police used footprints to identify a baby found in Bowling Green, KY, as Grayci Jean Barrows, reported abducted from Fort Logan Hospital at about 4 a.m.

The baby, umbilical cord still attached, was brought to a local hospital after a passerby found her in an alley behind a consignment shop. At about the same time the baby was found, police apprehended Sholtz about 20 miles away at a truck stop near the Tennessee line. Police said they received a tip from someone who heard Sholtz complain about being named in an Amber Alert issued for Grayci.

Sholtz, 24, worked part-time at Fort Logan Hospital. Hospital officials said a woman apparently entered the room of the baby's mother to give her a break from a restless night. The woman was not on duty but was dressed in her hospital uniform when she allegedly took the baby and left the hospital. A witness saw the woman with Grayci and notified police, who triggered an Amber Alert.

Grayci was in good condition Friday at Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville.
