PA nurses opposed to hospital’s ASC plan

The union representing nearly 300 nurses at
The Pennsylvania Independent Nurses union worries that the center could perform some of the more profitable services normally done at Butler Memorial, taking money away from the hospital. The union is also concerned that the center will endanger patient safety if it is not built near the hospital and an emergency occurs during a procedure.
Hospital administrators would like the center and a new, modernized hospital built on the same site, but they cannot guarantee that will happen, according to the Post-Gazette.
