Elder care center fire kills two

A fire at a Maryville, TN, elder care center January 20 killed two and injured 12 others, the Associated Press reports.
Three people were transported to the Vanderbilt Burn Center in Nashville for treatment, while others received treatment at Blount Memorial Hospital for smoke inhalation, burns, and in one case, a hip fracture.
One of the victims was the nurse on duty at the retirement home, and one person is missing.
Authorities believe the fire started at about 9 p.m.; the blaze took more than two hours for firefighters to control. The cause of the fire is still unknown.
