An Orlando, FL, assisted-living facility evacuated top-floor residents on November 15 after a fire broke out in a seventh-floor air-conditioning unit, the Orlando Sentinel reports.
Around 10 p.m., 17 residents of the Pavilion at Crossing Pointe were rushed from their apartments. Two employees were sent to a hospital with smoke-related injuries. No residents were hurt.
Authorities said all 17 residents will be housed temporarily elsewhere in the facility. Firefighters contained the blaze to one apartment, but other units suffered smoke and water damage.
