Police evacuated several units on three floors at University of Wisconsin hospital November 5 after receiving a bomb threat, the Capital Times (Madison, WI) reports.

A Madison city employee called 911 at about 1:15 p.m. after she received a call from a man saying there was a bomb at the hospital that would detonate within the hour. He did not give the location of the bomb and called again about six minutes later and implied that he had been in contact with federal authorities.

A police dog located a suspicious package in the hospital lobby. The lobby and adjoining units were cleared, as were the floors directly above and beneath the lobby. The Dane County Bomb Squad investigated the package, which was medical equipment left behind by a patient.

The lobby and other affected units reopened at about 3:45 p.m.
