Although the spread of severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) appears under control, the Virginia Department of Health this week released a plan on how to respond to a SARS outbreak, the Daily Press of Hampton Roads, VA, reports.

There have been no reported cases in Virginia since May 2, but the state decided to make its 41-page plan available to provide an overview of how to investigate possible cases, ways to control infection, and how to isolate patients in hospitals and at home.

Virginia has reported three probable SARS cases and six suspected cases, with no deaths. To access the plan, visit www.vdh.state.va.us
