A Wyoming woman accused her gynecologist of injuring her with a surgical instrument during an operation at an outpatient surgery center, according to the Associated Press on June 7.
Raine Papa is suing physician Roger Brecheen, alleging that he burned her with a speculum that was either dangerously hot or improperly rinsed after it was sterilized with chemicals. The dilation and suction curettage surgery occurred in May 2001, according to the AP.
Papa is also suing Jackson Hole OB/GYN and Teton Outpatient Services for pain and suffering.
