The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has partnered with the American Association of Occupational Health Nurses (AAOHN) to raise awareness of common safety problems in health care settings, according to announcements from both organizations on May 7. Topping the list of challenges facing health care workers are emergency management issues, musculoskeletal disorders and workplace violence, according to the AAOHN. The two-year alliance between the groups will raise awareness of these problems, and will give employers guidance on how to review and improve workplace conditions. The first initiative from the alliance is its new Web site, Ergo Resources, which provides information about ergonomics hazards, and links to other resources.
