Fire at NM nursing home sends two to hospital

Two Albuquerque, NM, nursing home residents were taken to a hospital on April 25 after an early morning fire at the facility, according to Albuquerque television station KOAT.
The fire started around 4 a.m. when a mattress was deliberately ignited at the Albuquerque Manor, investigators said. Alarms went off at the 300-resident facility.
Emergency crews evacuated 28 people, many of whom use wheelchairs. Cleanup crews estimated the damage at $500.
