The manager of a Kansas ambulatory surgical center was indicted on April 8 for obtaining and tampering with doses of Demerol at the center, according to United States Attorney Eric Melgren. Dennis Pray could serve up to 14 years in prison if convicted. The United States Attorney's office charged him with seven counts of obtaining the drug and one count of tampering with it at Derby Family Medical Center in Derby. In several incidents, Pray allegedly removed the drug from its container and replaced it with saline solution when he knew the drugs were intended for surgery patients, according to the Associated Press.
