A lab worker at Massachusetts General Hospital on April 8 fatally shot a cardiologist and then killed herself, the Boston Globe reports.
Colleen P. Mitchell, 51, shot Dr. Brian McGovern, 47, inside his first-floor office at about 10 a.m., police say. Police recovered a handgun in the office, but offered no motive for the murder-suicide.
Mitchell worked in the lab near McGovern's office for about a year, but was not his personal assistant. His office was near the chapel and a gift shop, and a few steps from a coffee stand crowded with employees and visitors.
