Adding security officers improves customer service
Emergency Management Alert, March 17, 2003
The security force can play an important customer service role in your facility. Placing an officer in a busy area provides a security presence and a point of information for puzzled patients and visitors.
In some cases though, adding a customer service-focused position helps the security department accomplish its mission in a more efficient manner. For example, busy outside entrance areas with traffic drop-off zones for patients require additional personnel to smooth traffic flow and assist patients into the building. These outside attendants also fulfill a security role by keeping an eye on who goes in and out of the hospital.
