Security needs spur new hospital designs

As U.S. hospitals struggle with an increasing number of patients who are showing up in their ERs as a first point of contact in their healthcare needs, some facilities are looking at new designs.

These new ideas are designed to help continue meeting patient needs while mitigating the security challenges these patients present to themselves, hospital staff, and the general population of a typical hospital ER.
