A medical examiner says a20-year-old man who shot and killed himself inside a patient's room January 4 after threatening several patients at Halifax Hospital in Daytona Beach, Fla., was drunk.

The Daytona Beach News-Journal reports an autopsy found that Jonathan Rodriguez-Jeff had a blood alcohol level of .143, well higher than the .08 required to be considered legally drunk.

The paper reports that Rodriguez-Jeff, a private first-class with the Florida Army National Guard, crashed his SUV into a wall outside Halifax Health Medical Center at around 4 a.m. that night after visiting a strip club in the area.

After shooting at a vehicle, police he say shot a glass door entrance and then confronted a nurse and patient inside a room on the hospital's second floor. After pointing a gun at the patient and ordering a nurse to perform a sex act on him, he allegedly shot himself in front of them, the News-Journal reported.
